Elementary Writers Might SERIOUSLY Be Daemon-ing
Sherlock solves a B plot mystery in the latest Elementary episode thanks to some squirrel monkeys. REALLY NOW, SHOW?? It would have only been better if they had an actual squirrel monkey in the episode.

The thing is, neither squirrels nor squirrel monkeys would be considered a weird thing, except for our daemon verses. If our daemon verses didn't exist, we wouldn't even notice that. It's like how Louise Brealey and Tom Hiddleston standing next to each other in a group photo isn't weird at all, but it is a little, because they're Molly and Alec to me.

That being said: hee!

I know. It simultaneously brings me joy but also the feeling that I sound vaguely paranoid.

I hear ya! It's weird when your fannish ideas come to fruition or vague fruition, and you have that moment of, 'oh my God, are the creators reading my stuff?'. And you so hope they aren't.

I thought of Sid this morning, because we had a furious squirrel in our front tree, making the angriest noises in unison with the movement of its tail. And it turns out angry squirrels sound like ducks. Like, exactly like ducks. And since I like to think that daemons sometimes use the body language or sounds of their animal counterparts, I had images of Sherlock and Tony getting into it over something, until Sherlock loses his patience to such an extent that Sid starts quacking and flicking her tail around at Mim.

Mim: Okay, dude, relax, I was just--
Sid: *quaaaaaack*
Mim: Yeah, okay. Tony, you have armor nearby, right?

Really?? I had no idea squirrels even made noises.

Hee! This idea delights me no end. I'm still giggling a little over the last image you gave me of Sid throwing shelled nuts at Mim when Tony and Sherlock fight.

Mim: Are you seriously throwing nuts at me right now?
Sid: I see no reason to debate with words.
Mim: You're not debating! You're throwing-ow!
Sid: Sherlock, bring me the other bowl!

Me either! I was sitting in the living room, and this quacking started up, and I thought some sort of angry duck was outside, but all I could see was the squirrel. And I thought, 'it can't be the squirrel making that noise', and then I noticed its little tail moved in perfect unison with the noises. So I looked it up, and it turns out, squirrels do make noises when angry..

Mim: You're not debating! You're throwing-ow!
Sid: Sherlock, bring me the other bowl!

Hee! I'm picturing this going down at the Halloween party Joan dragged Sherlock to.

Betti: It's not nice to throw things, Siddy.
Sid: Sometimes, Betrande, throwing things is the only sensible solution.

Meanwhile:

Lev: Really? Tony is supposed to be hosting, not challenging the guests to duels!
Mim: Okay, at the risk of sounding super petty: Holmes totally started it.
Lev: *changes to warning colours*
Mim: Fine, I'll make him apologize. He's not coming for Thanksgiving, though. And Christmas is debatable.

Due to my Superkids Christmas story being one of the only ones that survived the Great Flash Drive Disaster of 2015, I felt extra obliged to make sure it got done. And instead of spamming your comments, I've just made an entry for it. It's here. You should have access to view it. It's on a custom friends filter, so I don't confuse everyone else with Random Universes That Only Exist In Our Mutual Heads.

Happy Holidays, and thank you for letting me borrow your super child so much!
