Film Not!Review: Big Hero 6
I may have cried a little at Big Hero 6. I seriously don't know what's happening to me. The movie is SO good, though.

Along with it being an entertaining film, it's also a film that matched the races of the voice actors with the characters. I'm pretty sure Hiro and Tadashi Hamada are supposed to be half Japanese, half White and the film cast Ryan Potter and Daniel Henney, respectively who are both half Asian and half White.

And Baymax is adorable. I want one.

I haven't see this yet, but it's on my list. Mum and I were waiting for a day when we were emotionally prepared because Amalie warned us that there would be tears involved. Mum is a big crier, and I'm pretty bad myself. I got super teary watching Night at the Museum 3. I had emotional scarring from The Polar Express. If there is heroic music and touching scenes, I'm done.

Mum and I lolled at a preview for the movie with a scene where Baymax is trying to do the pain scale with Hiro after he hurts himself. Because Mum, as a nurse, has used the pain scale a lot and hates how subjective it is.

I seriously don't know what's happening to me.

I've opened you up to the world of feelings! I'm totally taking credit for that. I've thrown all sorts of rainbows and puppies at you, and now you're having emotional responses to animated bears and Pixar movies.

It's very cool about the characters and actors. I'm not sure if there's a plot reason why the characters are Asian (I hope there isn't), but it's good to see Asians being placed in a lead roles, even if it's in animated form.

Whenever I think pain scale, I always think of this girl's idea for a better pain scale.

Yeah, thanks a lot. My cousin's kids who are around 10 were fine while I sniffled like crazy during this movie.

Nope, no plot reasons. They just were which was nice. I still gave the movie points for casting even though Daniel Henney is technically half Korean rather than half Japanese. But I'll take it. Baby steps.

My cousin who is in love with Daniel Henney remarked that this is probably the only role he's ever gotten without the help of his handsome face.

I almost linked to that comic on my original comment! That girl has made me laugh to the point of tears in the past. There's a story about her trying to go to a track meet while she has a stupidly high fever that ends with her collapsed in a Spanish grocery store sobbing hysterically with no one around who speaks English that I was almost on the floor over. Mostly because it sounded like one of my family's vacation stories.

There's another variation of the pain scale that is a gradient of red, where bright red is the highest pain and white is the lowest pain, with shades of pink in between. I think it's for people who don't speak English very well, but my says it's entirely unhelpful because some cultures consider red to be lucky and good, so they point to the dark red to indicate they're fine when it actually means they're at 'I am actively being mauled by a bear.' levels.

Yeah, thanks a lot.

*smug face*

He is a very, very handsome man. Very. I agree with that. I'm not sure I've seen him in much. Just Wolverine and that One Episode of Three Rivers I Watched Once. But he is a good looking man.

I loved her story about getting the dental procedure done when she was a kid and how the people at McDonalds thought she was mentally challenged and her mother was making fun of her.

Every time I see Daniel Henney in anything, I always think his acting is average but his face is so above average that I can totally get why he's on my TV screen. I think he's gotten a role in a CSI spinoff that's coming soon. I'd watch but I've gone through years of never seeing a single episode of any CSI spinoff or the original and it seems weird to break with tradition now.

Yes, I was just reading that story the other day, randomly. And the alot. I like him, too.

I watched CSI: New York for a while before I lost interest, and the original CSI in reruns on Spike, but I didn't like it as much. Miami I could never get into because I can't watch David Caruso without wanting to punch him in the face. The only episode I watched of that one was when they did a three part story that went from one show to the next to the next, so I had to watch all three to follow it.

Random question as I'm edited fic: the SSR cover company (Bell whatever it is): is it is a phone company? For some reason my brain wants to make it an ad agency, and now I don't know which one is right.

It's a phone company. Ad agency would make sense in other ways but it's definitely supposed to be a phone company.

I have no idea where the ad agency idea came from, but it was enough to make me question myself. I thought 'no, it's Bell, it must be a phone company' and then my little brain went...'but what if it isn't a phone company?' It makes what Peggy's mum think she does for a living very different, so I wanted to verify before I committed it to the interwebs.

Peggy and Takeo

And, unless Raisa and Dooley get much more cooperative, I'm done! I think.

I lied. Dooley and Raisa. And now I'm for reals done.
