Tech Assistance?
Does anyone on my flist have any experience with routers that start to slow down your internet speed? My router has been perfectly fine for a year and now suddenly it keeps lowering my internet speed at random intervals. It's not always slow but if I watch something on say Hulu for more than 10 minutes, the speed starts going in and out. Is my router just dying or is there something else potentially happening? I've checked my actual internet speed by directly connecting my laptop and that's all fine. I've restarted the router twice now and no dice. Any help would be appreciated!

Not a techy at all computer-wise, but whenever our WiFi slows to a crawl, we unplug it and plug it back in again, and it usually sorts itself out. So, I'm afraid I am not of use to you, since you seemed to have tried that. All your drivers are up to date and stuff?

Imma gonna say no because I don't even know what a driver is or how to update it? God, I feel thick.

EDIT: Okay, I googled that. I'll try to update them maybe tomorrow as I'm sort of over it tonight.

I don't really know what they are, either, but if you have any problem, that's always what they ask you to check. I'm not really sure what they do.

Q would be so ashamed of us.

Q would be so ashamed of us.

I think he'd deem us undeserving of a laptop all together.

Hee! I'm now picturing him as Tech Support for some company, or maybe just MI6.

"You have reached Tech Support, if you have not turned it off and turned it on again, hang up, do so, and only bother me if you continue to have problems. This will save us all a great deal of time and energy."

I have this image of Q listening to some Double 0 complaining about how their laptop isn't working before he silently unplugs it and walks away with it.

Agent: When will I have it back?
Q: Never. You have been demoted to pen and paper.

Hahahahaha!

And then you go into his office and there's a stack of laptops under a sign marked 'Unworthy', with a little frowny face.

This reminds me of Q being annoyed by John's hunt and peck method of typing in your fic. I imagine John doing this and Q silently reaching out to just type it for him before Sherlock shoves his arm back down.

Hee!

I had this bunny once of Molly asking Q to help with a virus on her laptop during the Hiatus and him agreeing to return the favour of her help with Sherlock, and just sort of having a trough in his tongue over the crumbs in the keys and the kitten themed backdrop and the collection of shortcuts to programmes that no longer exist.
