My Mom's Take of Star Trek: Into Darkness
In short, my mom disliked the movie which wasn't surprising since she wasn't a fan of the first one. But I still loved listening to her random criticisms. She's totally the original Angry Little Asian Girl (Woman).

"Why does this movie have so many lens flares?"

"But what was Khan's plan for putting his people in the torpedoes? How was he going to sneak them away? 'Hey everyone, I'm leaving. Just let me gather my things. My 72 things' "

"Chris Pine's eyebrows have no business being that thick."

"Khan was so much scarier before he started crying."

"I don't like this Uhura/Spock relationship. It seems to lower their IQs."

"The writers for 'Wrath of Khan' should go ahead and sue."

"Why is McCoy so wonderful?"

So the last one wasn't a criticism. But I think the only character my mom liked in this was Bones.

I LOVE your mom! I agree with almost everything she said! Up to and including "Why is McCoy so wonderful?"

My mom also had tons to say about Chris Pine's Kirk. None of them flattering. Her basic summary was: "This Kirk is useless. Luckily, useless seems to be heroism in this movie's universe."

Yes! Kirk was dead while Spock and Uhura finished things!
