And Now a Word From Our Sponsors...
I don't even know why I used that subject line.

I've been slowly sinking into the world of dissertation work. It's bizarre because on one hand, I'm more busy now that I've ever been at my program but the stress level feels less soul-crushing. It's just now soul-bruising.

All of that is just to say that I miss being on LJ with the frequency I'm used to but I also feel like I don't have much to contribute on here these days other than a film review or my latest love for Hannibal which I know is a show not everyone can watch thanks to how GRUESOME it is. But the psychologist in me absolutely loves the acting and writing. It disturbs me how in many ways Hannibal Lecter is a very good therapist. He comes off as the right amount of detached, yet invested when it comes to his patients (except that one guy in the pilot) which is so rare. I'd probably go to him myself except you know, he's a cannibal and fictional.

Speaking of this show, it was with some consideration that I've chosen this show to watch in real time over Elementary. I haven't abandoned Elementary but this show is safe as it got renewed for a 2nd season. Hannibal is currently on the bubble and apparently will conclude with a season finale so cliffhanger-y that if the show doesn't get a 2nd season, fans might start to have seizures. So in my pathetic attempt to prevent this from happening, I'm trying to add to the ratings.

Anyway, I hope to be around here and there!

Well, I suppose soul bruising is a slight improvement. Don't let the man wear you down! Union! Union!

I think Elementary has enough of a following, and I support your decision to support Hannibal. Even if I can only watch it vicariously through recaps. You live in the States, too, which allows you to watch things online without people yelling at you for not being American.

I hope to see you, too, but don't feel obliged to post if you don't feel like it. I'd rather have sporadic, happy Scribble, than a stress Scribble feeling like she has to post. I love you and send you happy thoughts!

Thanks! *hugs*

I just miss the things in life that used to bring me such joy and smiles. Or at least easy access to such things. Now it's all about fitting it in where I can. :\

*hugs from over the Internet* Be strong! You can do it! It's always good to hear from you, but I do understand how RL can interfere. You don't need to force yourself to fit in, by the way! I love you regardless of what fandom you are or aren't in. Just be yourself, okay? I'm enjoying seeing your enthusiasm for Hannibal, even if I don't watch it myself.

Plus, it's always neat to get a glimpse into your life outside of fandom. I'm so proud of the things you're accomplishing. Ahhh! I have the coolest, smartest friend. *pets you*
