Being Human UK: Cancelled
NO! So soon after Merlin?! This is so cruel!!

HERE is the official announcement. There are mild spoilers for the current season.

HERE is show creator Toby Whithouse on the cancellation. There are spoilers in there for seasons past.

Seriously, what am I going to do now? I'm running out of British shows to watch that air with some sort of regularity.

*huggles* I'm sorry! I never got into Being Human, but I know how much you liked it. Stupid BBC, cancelling shows and not making shows.

Have you tried The Almighty Johnsons? It's New Zealand, not UK but it's ridiculously corny in a good way, and has a great premise. I caught an episodes of Season 2 on Space and was hooked. It might help fill your supernatural needs, and I know you like Norse gods.

Ooh! No, I haven't. But your description of it has me intrigued. I'm going to see if I can hunt down a few episodes.

Thanks!

Just be forewarned that there is nudity and a shitload of swearing. So, don't watch it with mixed company.

Oh wait, I do that anyway.

This just means I have to savor every last episode left. I can't believe they've JUST introduced us to Hal and he's being taken away so soon.

It really is horrible that this is happening. I love Hal. And the series is looking to be so good so far! AHHH, THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WANT.

Who cancels a show when the DEVIL is introduced as a character!? WHO DOES THAT!? Crazy people, that's who! We can no longer trust the BBC. *nods*

Toby Whithouse touched on how in many ways Being Human's success was its own enemy because BBC3 is about promoting new shows and Being Human is no longer a new show.

But then why can't BBC2 or even BBC1 pick it up?!

I didn't read your linked articles because I don't want to be spoiled, but was there any mention of it possibly being saved by BBC2 or BBC1? This doesn't make any sense. The show's been consistently good and interesting from the beginning, even with cast changes. I can't believe it'd be dropped so callously. :(

No, no such hope so far. I know BBC overall has been making huge budget cuts so this isn't shocking with a capital S but it's still depressing.

I caved and read the second article. This line:

...we've created what I hope you'll agree is an epic, thrilling and shocking finale that'll keep the fans guessing and speculating for years to come.

...makes me very nervous. o_o

Have you seen the first episode of this season? Knowing what we know now about the Devil and how he came to be on earth, I have a lot of fears.

Yes! I watched it the same night I said I was going to, in valiant opposition to my homework duties. It was fantastic. I was really surprised with the direction Alex's character took. I did not see that coming. Makes me a bit nervous!

HAVING READ SPOILERS AT LINKS
NOOOOO!

Well, I must say, HAVING READ SPOILERS AT LINKS, I'm not sure what else one can do after the leads have had a showdown with the devil. I don't think I want an ending to leave me guessing, though!

Well, shoot.

Re: HAVING READ SPOILERS AT LINKS
It is true that after the Devil where CAN you go? But...but I'd like them to TRY. Still, at least they're going out with a huge villain.
