The Internet Makes Me Bipolar...
...and other non-shocking news.

The internet is a place of wonder and glory as well as bile and awfulness. I'm less upset about the film Cloud Atlas than I am by some of the comments posted on Tumblr in reaction to people's discontent over the cross-race acting. I almost wanted to create a Tumblr account just so I could reply but then I remembered that I have other things to do in my life and yelling at people on the Internet is like spitting in the wind.

Off to gather last supplies before the big storm hits. For anyone else on the East Coast, stay safe!

Yes, this is the very definition of the Internet and tumblr especially. I hate when people get really shouty at each other and it makes me want to shout too, but then I'm becoming what I dislike. Sometimes it would be nice to just be able to go 'you are wrong and here are the reasons' and not get a flame war started in response.

Good luck with the storm! I'll be thinking of you. Please stay safe. We're apparently going to get the outside edge of it where I am, lots of rain and a bit of wind, but nothing compared to what's headed your way. Batten down the hatches!

I don't know why I torture myself by reading these rants on tumblr. It makes me angry when really I can channel that energy elsewhere.

So far where I am in NY has been pretty mild. Lots of gusty winds but not much else. But I did see photos of parts of NY underwater so I guess Sandy is a bit more ferocious than Irene.

Hatches battened!

I managed to accidentally walk in on a Cumberbatch bashing session the other day, while searching for something entirely unCumberbatch related and sat there and fumed for several minutes before remembering I had the option of not reading it. I don't ever post my opinions anywhere outside of my LJ or friends' Ljs. It is not safe.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as they're predicting. The storm, not tumblr or Cumberbatch bashing or anything like that. Reading it back there wasn't a clear delineation there.

So far power is still with me. Hope it stays that way!
