White Collar: Neighborhood Watch
A lighthearted episode featuring the female half of our favorite Power Couple!

The feel of this episode almost felt strange to me because it was just so...zany. That's not the exact word I'm looking for but it's close. The whole tempo and feel of tonight's story was like a subdued version of a madcap caper as El spearheads an investigation into the Burkes' new neighbors.

There were moments when the pacing felt bizarre as the story flipped back and forth between irreverent acting to the more serious situations of El being threatened and Peter being overly concerned in the wake of El's kidnapping by Keller. The resolution felt a little quick but overall, a nice low key episode. I loved that Peter didn't dismiss El's first suspicions and actually went above and beyond to look into what she heard over the radio. I loved that despite El knowing Peter was sort of humoring her, she didn't get angry but just went ahead and investigated anyway. And as always, the pairing of El and Mozzie never fails in the Unexpected Chemistry department.

The comedy in this particular episode was gold for me. Everyone got to shine in being funny, although for some reason Matt Bomer really stuck out to me as being in top form with his line deliveries tonight.

Random Thoughts:
1. The Burkes live in Cobble Hill! Did we know this from season 1? If so, I totally missed it. An old coworker of mine used to live there. How I miss Brooklyn.

2. I'm going to guess that Ben and Rebecca stole the original money that they used to put a payment down on their house? Because DAMN. A three story house in Cobble Hill of that size is not cheap.

3. I rather adored the smiley face Neal made when El and Peter greeted each other on 47th and Park. He was totally the kid who was so happy that Mom and Dad are together and in love.

4. Neal talking El through lock picking was awesome. That entire sequence that ended in Peter catching them was hilarious!

5. Is Peter really above a rubbing at a strip club joke? You test him, Neal. You test the man on so many levels. And on that note, that was the most naturally lit strip club EVER.

Random Quotes!

Neal: Over static 'noon' sounds like a lot of things. Soon.
Peter: Balloon.
Neal: Saloon.
Peter: Lot of people chatting about saloons these days.
Neal: Yeah, and 'I'll meet you at balloon' makes complete sense.

Neal: Maybe Ben will let something slip if he thinks I'm a criminal.....you know what I mean.

Mozzie: Elizabeth is like a terrifying amalgamation of Danica Patrick and the Man from UNCLE.

El: I'll going to tell them I'm FBI.
Mozzie: That is the worst plan I've ever heard. Literally ever.

Neal: Did you impersonate an FBI agent? Because I happen to know that's illegal. Just sayin'.

El and Mozzie can NEVER fail IMO!!! :D :D :D

Exactly! I squeed at that and I liked that they go on with that notion, like in last week's episode, when Peter talked about Neal like he was "Peter Junior"! :D :D :D

White Collar is my official 'feel well' series! :)

It'll never get old for me that Peter and El have more or less adopted Neal.
