Adorable Animals
After seeing this, I'd like to believe that James Corden's daemon would be a binturong. Not because he looks like he'd bite things aggressively but because he looks awesome with one sitting on his shoulder. Emotionally, he'd clearly want a penguin daemon. Plus, Tom Hiddleston plays with a baby leopard.

It's like EXTRA CUTE Tom Hiddleston!!!

I have some mixed feelings though, like...

When I posted the same clip on my journal, someone asked why the babies weren't with their parents...

I did meet Jack Hanna in middle school which was awesome and now I'm only one step away from Tom Hiddleston but...

Some of the stuff Jack Hanna says seems either old fashioned to me or that he's afraid of going against his employers like when he defended killing the gorilla.

Am I just being super-naive when I assume that they'll be returned to their parents who were also raised in captivity?

Yes and no...

On one hand, captive animals sometimes don't have the parenting skills to be a parent and the keepers have to take over which could be the case here...

Or it could just be temporary for the show and everything's cool...

But on the other hand, rare species are usually used for breeding programs where they determine the best genetic mate for that animal and make deals about whether the female will be shipped to the male or the male to the female. Sometimes, they'll even do it before the animals reach reproductive maturity in order to increase the chances for success as opposed to putting two strangers alone together.

Tom Hiddleston's casual handling of the leopard is so adorable. He and his leopard buddy are just chilling there. I can't blame the leopard for assuming Tom is a tree and trying to climb him. He's a tall dude. I also loved his 'where do you touch a penguin?' and 'I've never been this close to a penguin in my life'. What a dilemma when you're too busy holding a clouded leopard to pet a penguin.

Penguin!Corden and Koala!Cooper probably shared a flat in animal London.

Corden's one of the better hosts with animals that I've seen. Some of them freak right out and can't handle it.

His handling of the leopard climbing over him was adorable. Like he's trying to be accommodating by shifting his body around but also not wanting the leopard to leap away.

If this could be my dilemma, I would be 100% okay with that.

I sort of loved how excited he got about the penguin. Like he was resisting the desire to squee every five seconds and I get that because penguins are amazing.

I feel like he was trying not to draw attention away from the action, too, in a very British and Hiddleston fashion, and so he was just like 'oh, I'm having a slight problem...no, it would be rude to interrupt, I'll just deal with it my--and it's on my shoulder...'

There was such an internal conflict of him trying to reach the penguin while keeping the leopard away from the penguin. I think that's when the leopard made its attempt to climb Mt. Hiddleston.

Corden does a lot of bits on his show where he plays the part of a fussy, obnoxious, full of himself actor-jerk, and it makes it even funnier to me because he's clearly, on the inside, just a big child internally squeeing at all life is offering to him.

I'm amusing myself that the leopard sensed that Hiddleston would be like this and took advantage. "He won't make a fuss. He's clearly British and prone to being accommodating. Escape plan #2, initiate!"

This might be why he's so good at the animal segments. It's like his inner child cannot help but be so excited and happy to be around these things. Even with the binturong, he looked mostly thrilled such a cute fuzzy animal was nuzzling his face.

Hee!

Leopard: Freedo--
Tom: Oh, I'm terribly sorry, but I think you should come down now. I'm so sorry. Really.
Leopard: Damn, so close.

I was just reading up on bearcats to add to my list of potential daemons (I have a list of weird animals I could use), and they're apparently slow, but steady, and good climbers, but won't be rushed to go up or down. I have images of some very hyper daemon dancing around them, and the bearcat going 'oh my God, I am on my freakin' way, just chill man'.

I'm totally imagining Dejeni going crazy because this bearcat will just NOT HURRY THE HELL UP.

Hee! It would belong to that really brilliant, but methodical scientist at SHIELD, who is one of the best brains in the world but done everything by textbook.

Howard: Okay, so, he might be smarter than me and he has good ideas and he's a really nice guy. We're going to have fire him.

My favourite bits of the body swap fic so far is getting to write Haddie hepped on caffeine in Dejeni's body. She's hyper and efficient. Yay!
