Random Teen Wolf Related Interruption
I may watch Teen Wolf extremely sporadically but I'd apparently seen enough of the show to be sucker punched with feelings during season 5's opener.

Say what you will for poor writing on this show sometimes, they do EXCEL at matching the music to the scenes. It is an MTV show after all. The fact that they had the gang do the Senior Scribe to Famy's Ava was an excellent choice.

Starting from Stiles, I felt a pang of sadness when he noticed the Derek's initials on the shelf. Not because I ship them (although, way to continue the random fanservice, show), but because it made me think that it wasn't too long ago that Derek had been a kid and had suffered through way more than any kid should. I felt a momentarily happy spark when Malia paused before writing her T for Tate with a smile. Despite the fact Peter's her biological dad and wrestling with various parts of who she is, it was nice to see her knowing she is a Tate. And of course, I felt pangs of sadness again when Scott wrote AA. Again, not because I was on board Scott and Allison as a ForeverCouple but she was the first girl he loved and someone who died, bravely fighting for all the right things. I was glad that even as Scott had moved on, that didn't mean he'd forgotten about Allison.

And yes, the music more than helped get my feelings going. Bravo, Teen Wolf.

Honestly, I hated that bit of fanservice with stiles and the DH bit. Sterek makes so little sense whatsoever, that throwing crumbls like that to the people shipping it, is just horrendous. And not just because it'll make sterek shppers even more annoying than they already are on a regular basis.

I initially laughed when I saw it because it was so clearly the showrunners messing with the fans as they seem to enjoy doing. But then I got caught up in thinking about Derek's truly crappy teen years.
