Moar Daemon Chatter: Elementary Edition
Because why not? Plus, this whole Elementary/Captain America crossover-verse I've got stuck in my head thanks to the creation of Joan and Bucky's daughter had me imagining how all the daemons would interact.

Animal: Red Squirrel
Name: Sidika
Nickname: Sid (Most other daemons refer to Sidika by this. Weirdly, Sherlock is just about the only one who continues to call her by her full name).
Major Personality Traits: Sid can sometimes be a very hyper and yet still eerily focused daemon when something has her attention. She's persistent when she has a goal in mind and is known to be straightforward to the point of blunt. She prefers to stick closely to Sherlock when they're not actively working at a crime scene and doesn't really enjoy interacting with other daemons, other than Ziyad and sometimes Omolara. With Sherlock she is just as blunt with him as she would be with anyone else, often pointing out faults in his thinking or his behavior. When Sherlock was in the throes of his addiction, he and Sid rarely spoke to each other. Whenever they did, it was usually Sid unabashedly criticizing Sherlock for his poor life choices.
How he/she sleeps: Sherlock tends to sleep on his back and Sid will usually sleep on his chest.
How he/she travels with his/her human: Sid travels around in one of Sherlock's jacket pockets. When they get to the crime scene, she'll pop out and start observing the area.
What he/she does when his/her human is at rest: Sid will sometimes perch on Sherlock's knee when he's sitting or stationed on his shoulder, peering at whatever project Sherlock's got going on. When Sherlock is stationary and staring off into the middle distance, working out a crime, Sid will usually sit in a corner and shell a bunch of nuts. Sherlock often offers them to whoever is going to hear him give his solution.
Favourite forms before he/she settled: Sid doesn't believe she ever had any favorite forms. She was a grey squirrel for most of the time before she settled as a red one.
What his/her voice sounds like: Sid's voice is precise, exacting, and usually very soft spoken with a British accent.

Animal: Bohemian Waxwing
Name: Ziyad
Nickname: Zed (most of Joan's friends' daemons and those in the NYPD who have worked with them call him Zed. Sidika refers to him by his full name)
Major Personality Traits: Ziyad, while outwardly reserved and composed, is quite passionate and warm. He's a friendly daemon who is sensitive to others and can often observe when someone else is in distress or sad.
How he/she sleeps: Ziyad likes to sleep near Joan's head on his own pillow. If Joan isn't sleeping alone and there isn't quite enough room for his own pillow, he'll make due with sitting on Joan's.
How he/she travels with his/her human: Ziyad sits on Joan's shoulder when they're moving.
What he/she does when his/her human is at rest: Usually Ziyad will keep himself close to Joan to offer any input if Joan is sitting but working on something. If they're socializing, he'll try to be at ground level with the other daemons.
Favourite forms before he/she settled: When Joan was little, Ziyad liked being slightly unusual versions of common animals. Like the tufted deer or a tanuki.
What his/her voice sounds like: Ziyad has a light, soothing voice. He hardly ever gets loud but when he does, he gets very loud. And can be incessant about things that matter. During the early days of their partnership, Sid used to say Ziyad had an impressive voice for 'nagging.'

I got new nibs for my graphics pen, so...

Joan and Ziyad
Sherlock and Sid

And that's all. *salute*

*confetti!*

These are awesome!

I love Sid's expression, if you could call it that. I would have been so impressed if you had created a portrait with Sid in Sherlock's pocket. But I love the one you did make.

Thank you! I'm fond of the style of these ones. I changed up the filters a little bit, I think they look more like sketches. Maybe JJ did them.

I would have been so impressed if you had created a portrait with Sid in Sherlock's pocket.

I'll see if I can find a picture of Sherlcok or JLM with open pockets, because that sounds like fun! I don't think I can remove the flap on that shirt, but I'll see if I can find something workable.

I love Sid's expression, if you could call it that.

Sherlock looks like he's barely tolerating posing, and Sid is not even trying.

Seeing JLM's face next to that of a squirrel has further convinced me that I made the right choice in making Sherlock's soul a squirrel. They really do look alike.

I feel that way whenever I put a TR terrier near Chris Evans.

ETA: Okay, well, Sid isn't as sassy as I'd like, but let's pretend she's happy because she's holding a clue. Pocket!Sid.

EEEeee! Pocket!Sid is everything I wanted and more!

I adore that both their arms are sort of crossed.

Thanks for making this! This alone is prompting me to write something with Elementary daemons.

Good, I'm glad you like it! It was easier than I expected it would be. Some day my ability to photoshop animals into weird places is going to be of use, I'm sure.

I'm randomly back to working on That One Road Trip with Baby!Trio Verse Daemons fic I started many moons ago. My brain does not work in linear fashions, apparently. But baby shifting Holmes brother daemons are fun, as is exasperated Siger and Hermia.
