Meme (To Celebrate!)
I have officially finished the writen portion of my internship application process. So to celebrate, I'm repeating a meme. All fandoms I play in and all the different verses of said fandoms apply.

You post a topic, list, category, whatever, in my comments section. (examples: "Five Other Ways Sherlock Wakes Up Joan" ; "Top Five Things Steve Rogers Loves About the Modern World," etc.). Then I'll post the answers to your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Serious or fun!

Whatever floats your boat.

Yay for internship application doneness! Yay for memes!

Thanks! And in the spirit of yay for memes, I'll do both.

Five Things Steve Rogers Just Can't get the Hang of in the 21st Century

1. Hashtags. What are they for exactly? If people want to describe what a photo is, why don't they just do captions? It isn't even a search tool if a hashtag is #omgbestshawarmaeverhitupalfanoose, right?

2. And relatedly, Instagram. Why are so many people so interested in photographing their meals and their shoes? And more importantly, why do they need to share it with so many people?

3. Hipster culture. Why is there a culture based solely around not being involved in anything? What's wrong with caring about something? A lot of causes are important!

4. Price vs. Amount. Tony explained to Steve that the entire high end restaurant industry depends on charging outrages prices for the smallest portions they can get away with. Steve gets in from a business perspective but he's a little appalled customers condone this. People are essentially paying a restaurant to force rationing on them?

5. Graphic tablets. Steve got one as a gift from Pepper for his birthday. He really appreciates the gesture and has done some sketches on it but they never feel right. He's paper all the way.

Five Things Lestrade Likes Best About Connie Murphy

1. She takes garbage from literally no one. Anna inherited that trait. Nothing makes Lestrade grin faster than how much Connie and Anna are not impressed by Sherlock.

2. Her loyalty. Despite most of Scotland Yard ready to jail Dresden after that Christmas 2013 incident, Connie stuck by him until he was cleared. It might take her awhile to trust someone but once it happens, she's with you until the absolute end.

3. She can make the mundane exciting. When Lestrade went back out to the dating circuit, he quickly got tired of what his dates wanted to do as they were mostly 'out all night' sorts of things. He likes that Connie is more often than not wanting to have a quiet night in. And it's never boring.

4. She's guarded. Some people don't like this for obvious reasons but Lestrade does. He knows Connie is careful about making connections because of her history with Anna's father and she's always thinking about Anna's welfare.

5. She's capable of doing silly, stupid things. Lestrade will never let her forget the Great Karaoke Debacle of 2014. He won't let her forget either.

This is 100% Steve Rogers. I can totally hear the righteous indignation in the exclamation mark.

Aww, this is sweet on multiple levels. Pepper buying him the present and Steve doing his best with it, but preferring the old fashioned way. I'm the opposite--I do much better on a tablet than I do on paper. I can almost sort of make things look like what I want with a tablet.

Incidentally, Mummy Holmes agrees with Steve, much to Q's confusion. Why wouldn't you want to do something on a computer if you could do it on a computer?

He likes that Connie is more often than not wanting to have a quiet night in. And it's never boring.

:-D Aww, Lestrade. He's such a cute non-sentimental sentimentalist. I like idea of them having a really simple friendship/partnership relationship than an schmoopy romance. It suits them.

I want to know what happened at karaoke, though. :p

Thanks for doing these!

I have a half written "It's Steve's Birthday!" fic somewhere.

Yup. I imagine Murphy and Lestrade having very much a partnership rather than a whirlwind romance.

Thanks for the prompts!

Aww, I just imagine the party Tony might throw.

I have a half-written 'Steve goes to the movies and bonds with an old lady' fic somewhere, but I couldn't find an ending to it and now I think it doesn't fit canon anymore.

Yup. I imagine Murphy and Lestrade having very much a partnership rather than a whirlwind romance.

I've always preferred those to epic romances, which is why I think I don't tend to be drawn toward canon relationships in fandoms. They're all a bit too much for me.
