SPAYSHAP!
I wouldn't mind a job that would make me even a tenth as happy as Benny gets when he's got a spaceship.

Hee! I was just looking up gift ideas for a story, and I stumbled on this.

See, a huge part of me wants that shirt but I would be slightly sheepish about wearing it in public. Still, I love the slightly empty smile they always give Benny.

I haven't seen the LEGO movie yet, so I don't know the context. I'm not sure if all the flashing colours are migraine friendly. Is the whole movie as manic as that clip?

formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on August 9th, 2014 04:01 pm (UTC)
That clip summarizes Benny pretty well. He tries to build a spaceship throughout the movie and each time the other characters were like, "A spaceship would be useless right now." So this was finally his moment.

The movie is pretty manic. It has slower parts but largely it feels like what must go on in the mind of a child with ADHD.

Okay, this makes that clip 50000% more adorable and wonderful, and I now I sort of love him a bit.

It reminds me of my friend in the drama club who always threw out 'you're in a room slowly filling with water' when prompts for improv games were called for, regardless of what sort of scenarios were required.

Might be something to wait for good day for then.

I love that scenario where a character spends the entire movie trying to do something or talking about doing something but always gets interrupted until FINALLY toward the end they have their moment to shine.

Benny was the most adorable. Although my favorite character was the Hippie Wizard voiced by Morgan Freeman.

Yes, me too! I'm also a big fan of those stories where everyone has a talent and each talent is required at some point to solve the current problem, so that even the kid whose sole talent lies in tying shoelaces gets a chance to be awesome.

Yes! I love that. It's such a great way of showing that everyone can useful and awesome in unique ways.

I think that's why I like the X-men so much, because everyone's powers come together to kick ass, when otherwise they are just absolutely useless. I mean, unless you want to chill a drink really fast or you threw your basketball into the rafters and can't get it down or something.

Speaking of superhero teams, there is some serious crime solving being done here.

Ack, that photo!! You just know they're going to send the bird up there in a minute for further investigation. The cat and the dog look the most disturbed by whatever is happening. The rabbit seems more like, *sigh* "Guess it's a Tuesday."

Hee! I'm picturing the turtle being all 'you go ahead, I'll catch up. It's fine. I'm coming.'

I've been looking at animal friends pictures. I found this, and all I could see was Dejeni trying to be friendly with Mim and failing.

formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on August 9th, 2014 04:49 pm (UTC)
That raccoon seems so anxious. Like the minute the cat was like, "Ow! My ear!" His hands were all over her face. "There, there! Don't fret! EVERYTHING IS FINE!!"

The awkward pats to the face does pretty much sum up Dejeni's parenting skills.

The very next frame is Dejeni calling for Tomor. "She's upset! Fix her!"

Heh, Dejeni and Siger's daemon will have so much to talk about.
The Writer They Call Tayawanderingbard on August 9th, 2014 04:55 pm (UTC)
HA!

Dejeni: But you have three! How does that even work?
Hermia: The big one looks after the little one, and I never take my eyes off the middle one.

Hermia: The big one looks after the little one, and I never take my eyes off the middle one.

Dejeni: That's too inefficient. There needs to be someone who watches everyone at all times and warns them when things are going wrong. Like a helper that never sleeps.

Mim: *listens in and gets an idea*

Awww!

Like a helper that never sleeps.

Hermia: Siger has one of those. Her name is Dora.

HAHAHA! Poor Dora.

My Jarvis origins for the daemon-verse is a bit sadder than the one above. Mainly because I am me and I needed something to remind myself that I write angst even as I wade through all this kid!fic and fluffy animals.
The Writer They Call Tayawanderingbard on August 9th, 2014 05:12 pm (UTC)
Once again, we are polar opposites. I'm usually going 'this is sad, better throw in some fluffy animals and kids'.

I'm off to have a nap, but I will leave you with a picture of Efie helping Q with some work.

Laters!

Efie: I'll sharpen this for you in case you need to go Old School.
The Writer They Call Tayawanderingbard on August 9th, 2014 08:29 pm (UTC)
Hee!

Q in a power cut is probably panic personified.

Q: I only have 98% battery left on my laptop!
Efie: That's over five hours of power with the modifications you put in. I suspect we'll have power back by then.
Q: I better lower the screen brightness to be on the safe side.

I had forgotten how joyful that scene was!
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on August 9th, 2014 09:29 pm (UTC)
I love the very beginning as the camera slowly starts zooming in on his face. He finally got to build his spaceship!
