Oh No.
A friend of mine started to listen to Welcome to Night Vale of her own accord. She spent a week binge-listening and we got together to listen to the latest episode. Half way through, she randomly said: "Hey, what do you think it'd be like if Aziraphale and Crowley visited Night Vale? They'd probably check out Desert Bluffs too, right?"

Behind her I could see a grape-colored plot bunny peering at me, twitching its adorable little tentacles.

"What have you done?" I whispered to her. "What. Have. You. Done?"

Oh man, I think even I might read that and I don't even know that much about WTNV. But yeah, I'd love to see what Aziraphale and Crowley would make of the universe it lives in.

Erm, I mean...oh, the horror! *throws a life saver* Don't let it get you, Scrib!

I'm currently clutching a life raft marked "Stranger" my current WIP. But...it's leaking so once that one goes I fear what will happen...

I'll send along the SS Really Strange Fic Ideas if you think it would help. It's been moored in my harbour for the past week or so.

Maybe? The grape-colored plot bunny is using its tentacles to swim toward me so yeah, send the boat!

On its way. If you need anything else, I'll be over here on the dock trying to decide how many OCs I can stick into this wedding fic before people stop being able to figure out who's who.

So, I should at least have a few hands on deck to help you row to shore.

O_O

...what this friend has done to you is unspeakable (yet fascinating!). I think she's a keeper. *nods-nods*

She's definitely a keeper. Because she's sort of Satan. I...I'm so intrigued by the idea of Aziraphale meeting Old Woman Josie and the Erikas. And Crowley's take on Desert Bluffs. And Station Management. AZIRAPHALE AND KHOSHEKH. Stop me. Please help me.
Dusty: SPN. Light my way.dustlines on March 4th, 2014 04:18 am (UTC)
Oh, well as long as Satan has good ideas, I suppose this is an acceptable and mutually beneficial plot bunny relationship.

AND YES, AZIRAPHALE AND KHOSHEKH IS A COMBINATION THIS WORLD NEEDS VERY DEARLY.

I totally see Aziraphale trying to pet Khoshekh while Crowley just grabs his hand and shakes his head. Also, Crowley and Old Woman Josie would be incredible. At least in my mind. She'd make him put up some shelves and fix the porch light that's been on the fritz.

It is so funny to me how Crowley is...well, not Aziraphale's conscience by any means, but sometimes very strongly is Aziraphale's common sense. Crowley is the one who knows not to eat the yellow snow, while Aziraphale is getting all choked up about how beautiful it is.

She'd make him put up some shelves and fix the porch light that's been on the fritz.

I believe you are correct about this. And he wouldn't know why he feels so compelled to do so, but it feels like a very persistent drive, nonetheless.

While not a fool, I think Aziraphale is prone to get carried away by things because he doesn't have to worry about dying or being maimed if his life experiment goes wrong. My headcanon tells me that angels getting bodies is a lot easier than demons getting bodies. But Crowley is basically like, "Look, I really don't want to have to help you find your fingers again like last time. It took hours."

And he wouldn't know why he feels so compelled to do so, but it feels like a very persistent drive, nonetheless.

It wouldn't even be because of magic. She's just that old lady who is so good at giving orders that everyone feels compelled to do as she asks. Cecil didn't originally feel like he had time to be on a bowling team but Josie asked and...well...there you have it.

Oh yes, Aziraphale is quite brilliant, but often brilliance and staying present in the current moment can be very separate abilities, and I like how Crowley is the metaphorical balloon string keeping Aziraphale grounded. :)

But Crowley is basically like, "Look, I really don't want to have to help you find your fingers again like last time. It took hours."

Hee! Are you imagining a particular scenario for this?

Agreed. Crowley has a secret weakness for submitting to the whims and schemes of grandmothers who refuse to be pushed around by anyone.

Not in particular. Although I feel like there were past instances of Aziraphale touching things when he shouldn't have.

Crowley has a secret weakness for submitting to the whims and schemes of grandmothers who refuse to be pushed around by anyone.

And Josie will reward him with cookies for all his nice help. I imagine later he and Aziraphale leaving her house and Crowley wondering why she keeps insisting the Erikas are angels. "They're definitely not angels. At least, I didn't recognize them, did you?"

"Not in the least. Still, they seem harmless enough."
Dusty: SPN. D + Feathersdustlines on March 4th, 2014 05:03 am (UTC)
Perhaps it was an encounter with some new form of technology. Or a disaster involving a record player. Crowley had no idea how it happened, and Aziraphale was too proud to tell him, but Crowley still helped him sew his fingers back on anyway.

And Josie will reward him with cookies for all his nice help.

*squeaks* OH NO, Crowley eating cookies. And Josie berating him for drinking so much wine all the time.
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on March 4th, 2014 05:10 am (UTC)
"Strawberry macadamia," Old Woman Josie announced. She set down a plate with an swirling paisley pattern that looked like it had seen better days. On it was a pile of reddish tan circular baked goods.

Crowley had half a mind to decline but couldn't come up with an excuse that didn't sound rude. And while being rude in general was encouraged behavior in a demon, he had just helped Josie fix her shelving units so it seemed pointless to change course now.

He tried a cookie.

It was obvious from the first bite that Smuckers strawberry jam was a main ingredient. As was those nuts one might find at baseball game. From 1947. So it was curious that Crowley felt a strong desire to finish the cookie. And possibly take the entire plate with him.

Ahahahah I almost think this was inevitable, really? (though please don't abandon Stranger, I neeeeeeed more!)

...I wonder if Crowley stays in the station for too long, will the Weather become all Queen?

Ahahahah I almost think this was inevitable, really?

I suppose. I'll never get away from crossovers that involve Good Omens.

though please don't abandon Stranger, I neeeeeeed more!

Don't worry! I learned from last time never to start two stories at once. I'm staying with Stranger until that thing's finished.

...I wonder if Crowley stays in the station for too long, will the Weather become all Queen?

Hm. Good question. Or if Crowley listens to Cecil's broadcasts enough times in the Bentley, will the Weather just come in as Queen no matter what?

I feel like Crowley would be both impressed and a little horrified by StrexCorp.
