When Woodland Creatures Dance
A dancing Ben Whishaw looks pretty much exactly the way I imagined he'd look.

Yep. That is exactly I would expect him to dance. All limbs.

Now we know that faun!Whishaw will join in the dancing at the Drunken Charades night. Otter!Batch and Hiddleston!Meerkat will be pleased.

I was rather amused that he continued going even after Olly Alexander held up the card. You can't stop the dance. You just can't stop.

Yep. That is exactly I would expect him to dance. All limbs.

He also looks slightly tortured which again, exactly the way I imagined it.

It just creates so many more tea party scenarios. Will all three of them now do drunken Shakespeare? Musicals?

I'm not entirely sure I've seen Whishaw not looking slightly tortured.

Does Ben Whishaw sing? I know Cumberbatch has a decent voice, and Tom is very enthusiastic, but I don't know if Ben can sing. Because I vote for musicals. About Shakespeare.

Does Ben Whishaw sing?

He mentioned in an interview that he would like to do a musical some day. I think he said that he can sing. Not amazing but decent. He was game enough to sing a few notes from a Nina Simone song during the Cloud Atlas interview while James D'Arcy completely excused himself out of that.

Because I vote for musicals. About Shakespeare.

I'd watch that. And buy the CD.

I imagine "looking tortured" is on his CV under Other Skills.

I'd watch that. And buy the CD.

I was watching Benedict talking to James Rhodes about pianos on youtube today, and it just struck me again how much he and Hiddles need to do some sort of series of articulate fanboy videos about things. Just various things. Where they are verbosely enthusiastic.

I'd include Whishaw, but he'd never get a word in edgewise.

There would be nodding. And lots of staring.

And looking tortured, but politely.
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on February 7th, 2014 06:20 am (UTC)
Politely tortured is probably the most accurate phrase ever to describe the bulk of Ben Whishaw's look.
The Writer They Call Tayawanderingbard on February 7th, 2014 06:22 am (UTC)
Hehe! While Tom is politely uncontrollably excited, and Benedict is politely five-years old.

I'm off to bed. G'night!

Ah, British actors. So polite.

Good night!

This!

There was a lot more head bouncing than I'd predicted.

I saw him in the play Mojo, and there was a bit of dancing involved in that, don't recall him being this flaily... though it was only a tiny bit of dancing, so that might be why.
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on February 8th, 2014 01:32 am (UTC)
Was there music in Mojo during the bit of dancing? Perhaps it wasn't as flail-inspiring as this song.
in_the_bottlein_the_bottle on February 8th, 2014 10:16 pm (UTC)
There was some music, and TBH his character was a tad nuts, so... IDEK...

So inquiring minds want to know:
Did someone actually choreograph this for BW?
Did the director tell him just to do whatever he wanted?
Or did the director tell him to "dance pretty much the way people imagine Ben Whishaw dances"?
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on February 8th, 2014 02:33 am (UTC)
Did the director tell him just to do whatever he wanted?

It was probably 90% this and 10% choreographed as in, "Could you maybe bounce and twirl more in place now, rather than moving around the entire stage?"
