Fan On, China. Fan On.
There's a Sherlock-themed cafe in China.

It's just a tad obsessive. Mainly because it's less a shrine to Sherlock Holmes and more a shrine to Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. That chalk anime drawing of him is pretty cute, though.

It must be so weird to be a celebrity. Can you imagine just walking around and randomly stumbling on an entire café devoted to your face? I mean, obviously, it would be hard to walk around considering there is a whole nation obsessed with you, but still.

I get a huge kick out of Curly-Fu and Peanut. I discovered, in attempting to Google translate the comments on a story of mine translated into Chinese, that they call Elementary Holmes 'CBS-Fu', which is also adorable.

I also want Curly-Fu and Peanut to have been childhood nicknames for both characters. If only in my headcanon.

And I still find it hilarious how people report the Chinese fans theory of John and Sherlock being gay as somehow a) unique to China and b) unique to Sherlock.

Yes, don't let the Asian trailers for Sherlock and Hannibal fool you, Buzzfeed. The only difference between Asian slashers and non-Asian slashers is that the Asian slashers have the full backing of a TV company.

Awwww!

It's so easily possibly. Both nicknames fit them so well. Sorry, Martin Freeman.

I'm about to bring Harry Watson into a story, and I am this close to having her call John Peanut. Just because it totally works.

I can also picture canon!Mummy calling Sherlock 'Curly-Fu', and Mycroft occasionally bringing it out to bother him when they are bantering. And Sherlock countering with whatever pet name Mycroft had, which is very much at the top of Mycroft's file of 'things she needs to answer for'.

Its making me want to go to Shanghai to check out the WTF-ness of the whole thing. God knows if it'll still be there in another 1-3 years which is the vague timeframe I have of heading over to China again.

Given that Sherlock puts out a season every two years, the cafe might be around for a long while!
