My Mother Watching Sherlock, Part 2
My mother watched the other two episodes of Sherlock.

She LOVED the wedding episode and no one was more surprised than her. Because if you guys think I'm cynical, you haven't met my mother. She's basically Mycroft:

It's her favorite episode to date. She thought she might stop hate-watching Sherlock and actually start watching it for love!

And then she watched "His Last Vow."

Her summary: "So after all that fanfare, the big reveal is 'guy remembers stuff really well.' I hate Moffat."

Again: I love your mom.

That's a great gif of Mycroft.

I can't take credit for that gif. sugardaddystoph on Tumblr made it.

Yeah, I kinda think that letting Moffat end a season was a very bad idea. At least if he has the first episode, the second two might made you feel better about things.

On a brighter note, I get a huge kick out of how mature and scary Mycroft is with everything in his life, except Mummy and Daddy and family. Then he is five-years old.

I love that even Mycroft isn't above regressing. Even when he's criticizing his mother for calling him Myc, he sounds like a petulant, emo teenager.

I wonder if Mycroft is his actual first name, or if he has a normal name, too. Or if Sherlock was upset at having a normal name, and insisted he have a unique one like 'Myc', and announced he was going by Sherlock now.

I'm guessing it is his real name since he told his mother it was the one she gave him. She strikes me as someone who would name her children something less than normal but doesn't see why there's all this fuss about it. Or names in general.

I sort of like the idea of Mummy as Sherlock and Daddy as John, in terms of 'the eccentric one and the one who makes the eccentric one behave'.

Maybe Daddy lost the battle for the first child's name, but succeeded on the second one's name.
