End of Year Fic Round Up
Happy New Year, Everyone!

I need to do a review of the latest Night Vale episode because it was WONDERFUL but first a fic round up. Because I can actually do one this year!

Sherlock/Skyfall
Holding Pattern
Tech Support - for awanderingbard
Growing Pains - also for awanderingbard
Emergency Protocol

Sherlock/Good Omens
Human Nature
The OTP Challenge

Sherlock
Do No Harm

Dresden Files/Hannibal
Surface Tension - for quickyfant

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Much more, actually. I barely wrote in 2012 and thought my existing WIPs would be WIPs forever but I managed to conclude them which was a surprise.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2012?
Sherlock/Skyfall. It shocked me no end how seamlessly Whishaw!Q fit into the Sherlock world.

What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
I very much enjoyed writing "Tech Support." It was a silly little fic but I rarely write fics that are pure humor and light on plot so it was a nice change of pace for me. Also, just to cheat for a second, my favorite recent story was "Thou Canst Not Leave Thy Song." I technically wrote the fic in 2012 but it was my 2nd attempt at "Cloud Atlas" fic which was quite an experience and one that I was rather proud of, no matter what the result.

What's your least favorite story of the year, regardless of the reviews it got (or didn't get)?
Definitely "Human Nature." This fic took me over a year to finish and it didn't turn out exactly the way I had hoped. I'm still proud I actually finished this monster but it was seriously a challenge and one I'd rather not repeat.

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
Writing that Dresden Files/Hannibal crossover took a bit of a leap for me. The Hannibal fandom is an interesting thing as I only tend to venture into it to discuss the episodes but I feel almost zero desire to seek out fanfic. Hence, writing one and making it a crossover with a fandom starring a wizard of all things was a bit out there, even for me. But the experience did teach me that just about anything is possible as long as you remain true to the characterizations. Also, this was also the year I attempted romance/fluff fic through my unexpected adult!Adam Young/Sophie Taylor OTP scribbles. I learned that writing those can be quite fun too. Almost as much so as writing angst.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
My goal is to write that Welcome to Night Vale fic. It's the first on my list.

Yay for round-ups! I was so glad to see you writing this year, and I hope you get a chance to continue in the new one. Thanks for all the squeeing and egging on you did, this year for me. I very much enjoy our late-night comment fests. :-D

Sorry "Human Nature" was your least favorite; I enjoyed it and was glad you finished!

You wrote a fair amount this year.

I liked parts of Human Nature but it was tough going with that one. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
