It Was Geekmania This Weekend
It was going to be geekmania regardless because this weekend was the New York Comic Con. I've never been to it because I've always had something pressing to do (usually a paper of some sort). And this is also the first year I may have wanted to attend since there was a Night Vale panel and that's become my new love these days. I've had friends attend in the past but this was the first year where none of them could attend so sadly I couldn't get a gauge from them if it was less crowded on Saturday than usual because...

...Benedict Cumberbatch was in New York making the interview rounds yesterday. He was here the same day as Comic Con! Bold, sir. Bold. But obviously well played because it seems that some people actually ditched plans to go to NYCC to try and see him. This shouldn't be such a surprise to me but he's super photogenic.

That poor, poor man. What a day. I do hope someone tells him to take a nap occasionally. I would very happily be the person in charge of texting him and telling him to take his vitamins and have a lie down.

He is a very photogenic man, though. Word. It is not fair to look that good when being photographed by a rabid fan.

Overall it looks like the fans behaved fairly well. Especially considering how LONG some of them spent just waiting.

How is it that his schedule is so packed and yet he looks fine? He barely looks ruffled and is cheerful in every single photo. How? How is he not falling over?

I am always very proud of fans when they behave themselves. There was an excellent, adorable meeting Tom Hiddleston did a while back where he apologized for only having fifteen minutes and then stayed for forty-five, but the fans were so well-behaved and formed an orderly queue, and I was like 'look at you, being reasonable!'. They were German, though. So, maybe they just fan girl efficiently.

He barely looks ruffled and is cheerful in every single photo.

I read this as 'his cheekbones are barely ruffled' at first skim. Not that that doesn't make sense. It would be what happened if you forgot to polish them.

I can only guess that he is a very good sleeper and uses his allotted hours to the maximum.

Can that be my superpower as well?

That's so practical. If everyone could fangirl and fanboy efficiently, think of all the time and angst that could be spared?

On a random note about Tom Hiddleston, I've started to read the third Johannes Cabal novel and decided that Hiddleston should play Johannes and JJ Feild should be his older brother, Horst. I know these characters mean nothing to you but I'd like these actors to play brothers at some point. Such freakish resemblance should not be left under-utilized. /random rambles

JJ Feild is who I would have cast if Alec had any full-blooded brothers. As it is, he's the second oldest and only child of his mum and dad. The rest are all step and halfs. Maybe a freakishly similar cousin?

Can that be my superpower as well?

I suggest doing shift work. It worked for my mother.

Well, that's done it now; between this comment and yesterday's post, I'm always going to think of him polishing his cheekbones.

BC seems to have given the fans a lot, considering how tightly he was scheduled! Good man.

I'm always impressed that he can be this gracious under fire. I do feel bad for anyone having to drive him places, though.
