What Would You Like to Come Back As?
The first bit of this video never fails to make me laugh. I think it's amplified by the fact that James D'Arcy managed to dodge this question twice. Once by giving a philosophical answer and this time by making a joke. I also appreciate his teasing humor throughout most of the Cloud Atlas press tour. He was well paired with Ben Whishaw who tried to answer most interview questions for real.

Oh my goodness!! This is so cute. Falcon tamer and the Tom Hanks poster staring at them, ahhh. They really are paired wonderfully for interviews.

Though as a side note, I do wonder how Whishaw can leave one button of his shirt open like that and not notice. *G*

I wonder who in hell told Whishaw it was okay to wear that shirt, period. And not just for one interview but for every single interview. Every. Single. One.

I feel like I've seen just about every Cloud Atlas interview for these two actors and either they did them all in one day or that really is the only shirt Whishaw brought with him for these things. At least James D'Arcy had two shirts, each of completely non-descript nature. Even their wardrobe are balancing themselves out!

Hee! Oh my dear friend, the answer is simple. He is Ben Whishaw, and Ben Whishaw could go into a public place wearing a paper bag and still receive positive accord from the newspapers. :3

And aww, I like it when people seem to be balancing each other out. Speaking of, I marathon-watched The Dresden Files yesterday (I only meant to watch episode one!! WHAT HAPPENED!?), and I was reminded of Harry and Bob's incredible chemistry. I started thinking up a fic in which Winifred didn't actually die, and she pops into Harry's apartment one random day to have a conversation with Bob while Harry is away on another case. I'm somewhat alarmed by how intensely I want to write this out. How is your DF fic idea going? Still contemplating growing your old fic? :)

I actually watched the Dresden Files again on Hulu not too long ago. I'd totally forgotten how wonderfully snarky Bob could be that perfectly compliments Harry's snark.

Wow, I can practically already taste the angst. Give me!!

I am still contemplating my old fic. I still need to figure out if it's possible for Aaron to not have a completely awful fate. I'm still sorting it out plotwise.

The more I look at photos of Ben Whishaw as himself, the more I realize that he's either a very hard person to dress or everyone, including himself, has little idea of what look to give him. More than half the time his clothes are either eccentric in a way that doesn't quite work or they're just ill fitting or both.

After countless hideous wardrobe choices, I was relieved that he looked presentable when he won at the BAFTAS. Simple suit that actually fit him. Good job, stylist.

Oh my goodness, I am so glad you watched the show recently, because I am having a resurgence of Dresden Files feelings, and I am happy to not be alone with them. It's a beautiful thing to watch Harry and Bob's friendship grow from ep. 1 to the later ones, where Bob starts smiling and laughing a little more. They had SUCH JOY ahead!! Such NON-ANGSTY JOY!! Ahhhhh!!! Sorry, sorry, I'm getting emotional. *sits in a corner to compose myself*

Wow, I can practically already taste the angst. Give me!!

I'm actually thinking of making it a case fic with a plot twist, so I might be re-reading some of your DF fic as inspiration. It's so strange how being signed up for a Big Bang is making me want to write everything but the Big Bang. My life is literary tragedy!

I am still contemplating my old fic. I still need to figure out if it's possible for Aaron to not have a completely awful fate. I'm still sorting it out plotwise.

Well, send me an e-mail/open a chat window if you ever want to bounce ideas. I am swimming in DF-enthusiasm and would be more than happy to help. 'Sides, I like talking to you! Hardly a hardship to help you think. :D

I...think this is an unbelievably accurate assessment. He's probably the guy who runs around in Good Will with the horrified friend who has to keep denying Whishaw's triumphant cries of excitement whenever Whishaw finds what he believes to be The Perfect Shirt That's So Unique I'll Be The Only One Wearing It!!

I think my favorite forgotten moment in Dresden Files was during "Bad Blood":

Bob: Be careful. *stage whisper* You can't trust her!
Bianca: Bob, I can hear you.
Bob: Oh, I WANT you to hear me.

The look on Bob's face as he bitches back to Bianca is golden.

Same here! Email me with squee, musings, etc. One thing I really miss about not writing DF fic is coming up with spells. I loved thinking up spells the wizarding world could do.

Ever since I wrote that DF/Hannibal crossover ficlet, I've been wanting to delve more into melding these worlds (these crossovers are my kryptonite!). Plus, I want Hannibal to continue giving therapy to Harry (in the non-murder way).

I watched an interview with BW where he commented that he tends to wear clothes until they die because he usually just wears whatever people give him as he has little interest or understanding of fashion.

Number one: your lack of interest and understanding clearly shows, Mr. Whishaw.

Number two: get different people to send you better clothes.

Oh goodness, yes. I was watching that scene with a friend of mine, and he cracked up when that happened. I could tell the show had won him over. It really says something that Bob, accustomed to a life of servitude and being looked upon as less-than-human, is now so aware of the fact that Harry cares about him that he KNOWS his own distrust of someone Harry is associating with is as good as at least minor damnation of that person Harry is associating with. Basically, you want to be Harry's long term friend, you better rub elbows with Bob, too! Harry puts a lot of stock in Bob's opinions, and both Bob and the monsters out there know it.

I hope you know you've essentially just opened up a set of floodgates here. You know, I still think of that Shadow Person story we started writing. That was friggin' amazing, wow. I hope to write that someday, even if it's ten years from now and we're the only people who end up reading it.

Oh and your spells! You are so great at that. It made your stories stand out, and I loved reading whatever you'd come up with. I fully support any spell making in stories you might come up with. :D

I want Hannibal to continue giving therapy to Harry (in the non-murder way).

The noise that just left my mouth was not human, and I apologize for the drool stain I'm leaving on your carpet. Yes! More would be grand!! Ahh!!

I've been re-watching Star Trek: The Next Generation, so for a brief moment I read the first line in Commander Riker's voice and I had myself a great little laugh about it. And then the second line is just hysterical. HEE! Wow, poor Whishaw. He tries...oh he tries so HARD! (Well, maybe not, but semantics!!)
