Crowley and Aziraphale's New Year's Resolutions for 2012
A few years ago Terry Pratchett wrote New Year's resolutions for everyone's favorite demon and angel. guardian_chaos reminded me of them recently which inspired me to come up with some new ones for them for 2012.

Crowley

Resolution #1: Stop turning communion wine into water. It was funny the first few centuries but it’s time to retire the joke. Besides, nowadays people barely notice the difference.

Resolution #2: Come up with something as good as Facebook. It’s embarrassing that a human beat me to this.

Resolution #3: Related to #2, lobby harder to get proper recognition for Twitter.

Resolution #4: Be more discerning about which entries on Wikipedia to inundate with false information. I still believe this is proper demonic activity but it’s getting too time consuming.

Resolution #5: Continue to perpetuate the usage of portmanteaus and creation of reality shows. (Note to self: remember to send the DVDs for The Jersey Shore and The Only Way Is Essex Downstairs for Azazel’s perusal.)

Aziraphale

Resolution #1: Spread peace and love and glad tidings of great joy throughout the world (ongoing). Also try to get out more (also ongoing).

Resolution #2: I will try to be more understanding of people using e-readers on the trains and of e-readers in general. Man must sin before redemption after all.

Resolution #3: Spend less time on Wikipedia making edits and corrections.

Resolution #4: Give modern music a fair chance and a closer listen. I have a couple of songs I’ve been meaning to try by a group of musicians called Nine Inches of Nails.

Resolution #5: Figure out what a ‘tweet’ is beyond its ornithological association.

BAHAHA! Aw, Crowley, humans are such drunkards, aren't they?

Tumblr. He's clearly behind this.

Resolution #3: Related to #2, lobby harder to get proper recognition for Twitter.

Does this mean that Misha Collins is following the path Crowley laid out for him? O_o

CAN'T BREATHE. HAAAAAAAAA... XD

Resolution #3: Spend less time on Wikipedia making edits and corrections.

Yes, give up, it's a losing battle.

Umm. This made me think of this crude (yet hilarious in a wrong sort of way) little gem:

It involves NIN, Michael Jackson, and the Chipmunks. Aziraphale would pitch a fit. *VBG*

Via one of many ways.

Yes, give up, it's a losing battle.

Aziraphale likes a good challenge. Comes with being an angel charged with thwarting evil and all.

Very clever resolutions, 'Scrib. *applauds* How was your trip home? :)

Thanks! :)

Trip home was good. Uneventful which is always a positive these days.

Haha! Yes, that's painfully true at times. Do you remember that plane that hit a bird and fell into the Hudson river? I can't remember when that was, other than I think you were flying back home at the time. I just about had a heart attack when that happened. I was like, "NO, 'SCRIB!!!" and couldn't sit still until I found out it was an outbound flight. I was horrified.

It's nice to know you were concerned though sorry it caused you undue alarm.

I do remember that unfortunate plane from the news.

Well, it ended well, at least! Everyone onboard was alive and accounted for. I was really glad to hear from you that night, though. I remember being a combination of fascinated and outright alarmed that a bird could bring down a plane. Just--just--gahh!! What a Not Comforting freak event! Heh.
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on January 4th, 2012 02:27 am (UTC)
Apparently birds in planes is not a completely uncommon thing which is rather alarming.

I'm immediately thinking of snakes, and am feeling sobered and entertained at the same time.

You're right, though. That is extremely alarming. The footage for that event was incredible. Standing on the wing. The water. Wow. I'm so glad that ended well.

I'M TIRED OF THESE MOTHERF@!KING BIRDS ON THIS MOTHERF@!KING PLANE!

Aww, I always want to huggle your Aziraphale. He's so seet and clueless. And now sort of looks like Mark Gatiss in my head, also thanks to you. I see our discussion of his Wiki habits made the cut. And, yes, e- readers are affront to all that is good. No,I'm NOT currently writing this from the iPad. *eyedart*

I also love the mental picture I have of Crowley editing Wiki and five minutes later Aziraphale coming along and tsking and fixing it.

^_^

Aww, I always want to huggle your Aziraphale.

Thank you! I'm warming up for the next chapter in the crossover WIP.

I see our discussion of his Wiki habits made the cut.

Oh absolutely. I loved the idea of Aziraphale getting obsessed with wikipedia.

This is about as confrontational with one another as it gets.

Do you suppose when they're helping each other out on their work, one of them puts the fake information in and then corrects it to save time?
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on January 4th, 2012 03:01 am (UTC)
I'd like to think that this is one area where Aziraphale and Crowley are unwittingly making each others lives a bit more challenging. It might eventually come out during one of their drinkfests or lunches.

It's sad, though. Because it's a deluge. And he'll never keep up with it. XD
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on January 4th, 2012 03:02 am (UTC)
Well, SOME of the information is correct. But yeah, it's a losing battle. Although, not all false information is necessarily bad so Aziraphale might leave a few lies alone for the greater good.

Hee, very cute!
