Meme (5 and 5)
Okay, so much for me going on radio silence. The siren call of memes is too much for me.

Pick a fandom where you wrote a fic that had an OC. Write 5 facts about this OC and then write 5 personal canon facts about one of the fandom’s non-OC character.

Obviously I picked Sherlock.

Spencer Baird
1. Was destined for boarding school by his own request until his mother passed away and his father could no longer afford the costs.
2. Has perfect pitch.
3. Has never been in love but came close once.
4. Despite being competent on a bike has fairly mediocre motor coordination.
5. In his own way is a devout Catholic.

John Watson
1. Has a general aversion to traditional British cuisine items other than baked beans.
2. Had an uncle who was also in the army.
3. Is rather terrible at lying on the spot.
4. Contrary to popular belief wants to have children one day.
5. Can speak barebones German and Dari.

This is great. I'm still hoping to see more of Spencer some day in flashbacks or something like that.

I also imagine John Watson being pretty bad at ad libbing lies.

Thanks! Yeah, hopefully one day I'll get to write at least a few of the oneshots floating in my head that have Spencer in them.

Hmm? May I request further details? I'm curious now!

I have just pictured John Watson speaking to Magneto. ACK, THE THOUGHTS.

I may do a oneshot of this someday but basically it was someone he met before he went to Haiti for the Doctors Without Borders project. It's the closest Spencer got to being in love but didn't quite make it and he left too soon for it to completely play out.

I have just pictured John Watson speaking to Magneto. ACK, THE THOUGHTS.

Now there's a crossover that never ever entered my mind. It kind of blows away my neurons!

Oh noes! Not the neurons! You need those for your paper-writing! Here, sit down, I'll get them back for you. *gets the broom and dustpan*

It would be an interesting conversation! Despite his military history, I view John Watson as a pacifist. Plus, he has a high tolerance for strangeness in people. Him + Magneto in a conversation would be incredibly interesting.

Maybe they could bond about war horror stories. Yeep!

Well, 1962 Magneto might have an interesting conversation with John. Current!Magneto might just toss him aside without words as he is just a puny human.

Well, maybe, but maybe not. I think even Magneto has moments of silence when he's not trying to kill or maim anything. XD

Perhaps while Magneto is in that plastic prison, or at the end of whichever one of the X-Men movies it was when Magneto lost his powers. Perhaps they'd have a conversation about people being beyond average, without talking about the fact that (a:) John is referring to Sherlock and not some hypothetical person, and (b:) Magneto is talking about himself, and not some hypothetical person.

I picture them meeting in the park. John's there on a case. Magneto's feeding the birds. Sherlock's gone AWOL. John feels a tingle on the back of his neck, and looks up to see an old man's eyes looking right through him. The man's pale, sharp gaze is furrowed and assessing: a predator's gaze, or perhaps simply the gaze of a man trying to remember where he has seen a certain stranger once before, if he has seen him before at all.

Oh no, this is embedding itself in my skull.
The Writer They Call Tay: SHERLOCK: Watson giggleawanderingbard on December 13th, 2011 12:48 pm (UTC)
John is totally a terrible liar, agreed. I bet he spazzes out like Arthur Shappey when faced with spontaneous lies. I can picture Sherlock in the background rolling his eyes as well.

I too would love to see more Spencer in flashback form or something. But I don't know if that would make me sad knowing his ultimate fate.

Like Arthur would John fall over when trying to lie? Probably.

Whenever Sherlock gets seriously bored he can set up a project for himself to teach John how to lie better.
