Meme (Recycled Kind!)
I did this one awhile back but was reminded of it again by guardian_chaos:

Tell me the title of a story I haven't written, details optional, and I'll give you a summary. If you're really lucky, I might even write the story for you. Let's not kid ourselves here. I barely have time to type what I'm typing right now.

Welcome to My Life

or Beautiful Disaster

Giving you two in the hopes of not breaking your brain as I usually do with prompts. I don't expect both. :-)

And yet ye shall have both! With snippets! (the best I could do in lieu of actual fic)

Welcome to My Life
It's another day of rain, murder and self-proclaimed wizards for Connie Murphy

Murphy took a second to consult her watch. It was ten to 7 and absolutely she was going to have to leave the scene on the dot if she planned on making it to Anna's recital. And she absolutely planned, dammit. Giving her watch that was ticking all too quickly one last glance, she turned her attention back to Harry who was still trying to dislodge the dead body from the tree.

Beautiful Disaster
Sometimes upgrades are not always what they're cracked up to be.

In general, Douglas was in favor of technology. Technology usually suggested progress and the betterment of mankind, etc. But now seeing Arthur's shining, barely still in their sockets eyes as the younger man took in their newly purchased microwave, Douglas wondered if perhaps in this case technology would mean their deaths at 30,000 feet.

still trying to dislodge the dead body from the tree.
Intriguing!

Arthur with a brand-new microwave! Arthur cooking, perhaps?
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on November 7th, 2011 03:16 am (UTC)
I imagine Arthur is just re-heating but all the new shiny buttons on the new microwave may totally distract him.

"It's a new model, Douglas! From Japan!"

Giving her watch that was ticking all too quickly one last glance, she turned her attention back to Harry who was still trying to dislodge the dead body from the tree..

OH!! Poor Harry! What kind of twisted evil mind hurls its prey into a tree trunk!? A renegade druid, clearly.
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on November 7th, 2011 03:17 am (UTC)
Actually, in my head the body was stuck up a tree, like in the branches. But your idea of it being inside the tree trunk works even better!
The Writer They Call Tayawanderingbard on November 11th, 2011 02:10 pm (UTC)
I meant to comment and then I didn't! But yay! Arthur has a new microwave. I can totally picture him pushing the popcorn button when he's not cooking popcorn just to see what it does, like maybe it will make the dinners pop like popcorn does or something.

And poor Harry and Murphy. Though my mental image of Harry in a tree trying to untangle a body is awesome. :-)

"It's a Great Life if You Don't Weaken" is kind of my family motto. It could be a title for so many different things. . . .

(Have I mentioned that I find the icon you're using here adorable?)

I'm deliberately leaving the fandom up to you.

I guess this ended up being in my mind a deleted scene from my multi-part Sherlock fic.

It's a Great Life if You Don't Weaken
John's first week at St. Bart's is mostly brilliant. Mostly.

While he was doing a fairly good job of trying to cover it, John was pretty certain that his bench mate in the tattered coat was sleeping through their anatomy lecture. Although creepily Tattered Coat's right hand was constantly moving with a pen it, making odd dream doodles on his pad of paper.

You realize that now I'm terribly curious about Tattered Coat, right?

I've started playing with this meme too!
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on November 6th, 2011 10:10 pm (UTC)
Tattered Coat is Spencer Baird. I had a scene like this in my head but never got a chance to write it.

Aw, Spencer!
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on November 6th, 2011 10:41 pm (UTC)
At one point I did want to write something where Spencer meets Harry but that's one more writing project that died somewhere.

That's the Way the Cookie Crumbles

or

All's Well that Ends Well

Your crossed-out line and subsequent explanation made me laugh, by the way. Aw! Hang in there, 'Scrib. You'll be okay. :)

All's Well That Ends Well
Aziraphale and Crowley attend the funeral of one Newt Pulsifer, former witch hunter

Thirty minutes into the minister's sermon, Crowley was trying to control his laughter so much he looked ready to fall off the pew. Aziraphale elbowed him hard.

"Show some respect!" the angel hissed.

"Don't talk to me! I can't control it when you talk to me! Crowley nearly wept with mirth.

Aww!! Poor Newt! He gets no respect, even when he's in a casket. XD

What is happening, in this scene? Why are they at the funeral to begin with?
formerly lifeinsomniacjoonscribble on November 7th, 2011 04:00 am (UTC)
The angel and demon are at the funeral of Newt who was in Good Omens. This is sort of a future fic where the minister goes on about how Newt was the paragon of Christian virtue and Crowley can't help but find it all hilarious.

Oh no, no, I knew he was in Good Omens! Well, given his choice of love interest, yes, I can see why Crowley might find this humorous.

I love how Crowley knows he can't keep a straight face around Aziraphale! Good stuff. *G*
